A whole tonne of footage…

Whilst going through my phone extracting video footage of Parker and I baking, I came across a whole tonne of Vlogs I’d filmed, but never edited because I was interstate and nowhere near my computer and software. So, laziness, and life being busy just pushed the videos out of my head and I never edited them or uploaded them.

I’m at a loss. What do I do with this footage?

Do I edit it anyway and upload them, despite the fact they’re old and I look nothing like I did in those videos? Do I spend time editing them and post them for the sake of it, or do I leave them by the way side and neglect the footage of something I deemed worthy of filming? Some of the videos I can recreate and re-word, make more cohesive, but certain videos, like exploring Port Adelaide – a beautiful town with a fascinating history – at sunset isn’t something I can really recreate any time soon.

I managed to get some seriously stunning photos of the artwork, streets, buildings, a long with a vlog with my true love/best friend as we walked around the harbour and streets of one of Australias amazing Ghost towns. What do I do with that footage? Do I leave it in my camera reel, or do I edit it, clean it up and share it with you – half a year since it was filmed?

Also, if you haven’t seen it already, the video of Parker and I baking a cake went up yesterday There were a few issues during the editing process, which are pretty evident in the framing and some of the crossfades, which I am aware of. A lot of this is due to the fact I’m learning how to use fancy new software and I went in and edited over 7 hours of footage with no training, tutorials, or knowledge of the software. All in all, I had a lot of fun working it out and now I know how to fix some of the mistakes I made. Hopefully you enjoy the video, regardless of quality!

This new software is kind of what has me thinking about editing the old footage. I’m loving learning and turns out Premier Pro is really, really good (duh). The amount of possibilities I have using an industry standard of software is just… insane. While my camera/phone certainly isn’t up to filming super high def footage, the amount of editing and fun things I can add to the footage is definitely what I’ve been wanting ever since I filmed my first video.

Let me know what you think! What do I do with all this footage! Comment below, and let me know if you want to see it!
